This model kit includes three 1:400 scale examples of Soviet submarines used during the Great Patriotic War (WWII). The Type “D” was utilized during 1927-1931 and was the oldest submarine class used by the Soviet Union. The Type “L” was utilized from 1933 and throughout the Great Patriotic War (WWII). And lastly the superlative Type “S” which was used throughout the Great Patriotic War (WWII) and after. The moldings for these 3 kits is in black and grey plastic and a thorough history, biography and instructions is included. The extensive history on the D,L and S submarine classes is fascinating and worth the price of the kit alone.
