The Mig-3 was first ordered by the government of the Soviet Union in December 1940 and it became operational in April 1941. It was used until December 1941 when the unavailability of its engine retired this interceptor. The Mig-3 was a traditional metal construction however it had wooden wings.

This is a highly detailed 1/72 scale model kit of the Vickers Wellington. The Wellington was a World War II, twin-engine medium bomber utilized by the Royal Air Force. It was designed in the mid-1930s and was used mainly as a nocturnal strategic bomber before being replaced by the larger and more capable 4-engine Avro Lancaster. This 1/72 scale model kit features 187 parts in light grey plastic with 16 clear parts. Decals are for:

This highly detailed 1/72 scale model kit of the BAC Lightning is a Cold War era, single-seat, twin-engine, supersonic jet fighter. The Lightning was developed by English Electric (EE) and British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) for use by the Royal Air Force in the late 1950’s. The Lightning was a high-performance fighter aircraft that lived up to its namesake. It was the first aircraft capable of supercruise. Supercruise is the sustained supersonic flight of an aircraft with a useful cargo, passenger, or weapons load without use of afterburners. Some 337 Lightning fighters were manufactured, and the type was used by the Royal Air Force, the Kuwaiti Air Force, and the Royal Saudi Air Force. This model kit of the BAC Lightning in 1/72 scale by Trumpeter can be built as the F.1A or F.2 version, and the kit features 72 parts in light grey and clear plastic. Authentic decal markings are included.

The Hawker Hurricane was a single-seat fighter aircraft designed by Hawker of the United Kingdom. The Hawker Hurricane F.Mk.IID was used by the British Army in North Africa to destroy German & Italian tanks and armored vehicles. The two ranging machine guns in the wings were used to illustrate to the pilot the bullet trajectory, and when hits on an enemy vehicle were observed, the 40mm antitank cannons were opened up and the target was destroyed.

The Tupolev Tu-160 (NATO reporting name: Blackjack) is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing, heavy strategic bomber designed by the Tupolev Design Bureau of the former Soviet Union. Although several civil and military transport aircraft are larger in overall dimensions, the Tu-160 is the world’s largest combat aircraft, largest supersonic aircraft and largest variable-sweep aircraft ever built. Only the North American XB-70 Valkyrie had higher empty weight and maximum speed. The Tu-160 has the heaviest take off weight of any military aircraft besides ultra heavy military transports. Entering service in 1987, the Tu-160 was the last strategic bomber designed for the Soviet Union. Sixteen aircraft are still in use with the Russian Air Force. A planned modernization of 10 aircraft to Tu-160M standard has been announced.
